Small Farm Action Days Bring Nearly One Hundred Farmers to the State House During 2016 Legislative Session
Rural Vermont concluded a series of three Small Farm Action Days on April 27th, and across the three events, brought nearly a hundred Vermonters to the State House to engage in the public process and advocate for policies that support their livelihoods and strengthen their rural communities. The last Small Farm Action Day included private meetings with legislators, testimony before the House Agriculture Committee on Agriculture & Forest Products, and an “Eat Like a Farmer” reception, which provided farmers an opportunity to share their work and food with legislators. Agency of Agriculture’s Weights and Measures Program Increases Protections for Vermont's Consumers
Beginning in May 2016, the Weights and Measures Program of the Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets (VAAFM) will post on the VAAFM website information about its enforcement actions against businesses that have violated Vermont laws designed to protect consumers in the marketplace. The information posted will include business names and locations, types of violations, and penalties. Read More
