As part of the development of a Vermont Food Security Plan (Priority Strategy 24), Maple Mountain Consulting was contracted to conduct research on transportation-related barriers to accessing healthy and local food in Vermont. This report provides an overview of major barriers identified in relevant literature, programs, and by key informants, as well as existing and potential solutions for overcoming such obstacles. A second report provides an overview of major barriers identified by impacted populations.
