Summer Issue of Local Banquet Now Available

In the current summer issue of Local Banquet, we interview our new lieutenant governor, David Zuckerman, who is not only a successful politician but also the first farmer to serve as lieutenant governor in more than 50 years, David gives us an insight into where things may be headed for our farming communities as we move forward under a new administration. We also take a close look at the large anaerobic digester (Big Bertha) at Vermont Technical College and how nutrient management helps to closes the loop in the sustainable food system. In another article we examine how the folks at All Souls Tortilleria are working with UVM to develop a white corn suitable for growing in Vermont which they can use in the production of their tortillas.
