Salvation Farms' Executive Director plans their transition
Theresa Snow, founder and Executive Director of Salvation Farms since its inception in 2004 has announced that she will step down as Executive Director next spring.
“As I reflect upon all that Salvation Farms has done, it is with awe and wonder that I look towards its future, inspired by the potential of the organization's mission and team.
It has been a gift to bring our vision into existence - an effort that has engaged, influenced, and assisted so many. But with all quality gifts, there is a time to relinquish ownership to allow others to fully hold and carry the treasure forward.
It is that time.
It is a privilege to be able to pass along Salvation Farms to a new leader and a gift to myself, making space to find new places to invest my energy. While my energy and focus has served Salvation Farms well, it is time for new, fresh energy to lead the organization into its next chapter.
What a joy this has been to build an organization in service to farmers and eaters - connecting and building community.”
The Board of Salvation Farms is grateful to Theresa for her visionary leadership that brought life to organized, systems-level changes through reducing food loss on farms and increasing food access, community food security, and justice in Vermont. This work has also inspired and guided others in the region and across the nation in aligned work.
The board is beginning its search for a new leader to sustain and nurture the organization in its next chapter of life. A search process is underway, guided by a committee of board and community members and staff working in partnership with a search consultant, and aiming to have a new Executive Director in place by April 2024 when a period of leadership overlap will help provide a smooth transition.
