THE PLYMOUTH ARTISAN CHEESE GIFTBOX
WINS OPRAH’S #FAVORITETHINGS2015  !!!!!!
NOVEMBER 5, 2015: Good Morning America - New York City
Oprah Winfrey annouced her favorite things this morning, and it’s time for Vermont to celebrate because our very own Plymouth Cheese made the cut!

The Plymouth Cheese Giftbox with 6 varieties of award-winning cheeses was chosen to be a part of Oprah’s famous annual Holiday gift list. The Giftbox includes a handmade colorfully stencilled wooden crate, which holds six handwaxed blocks of unique artisanal cheese: Original Plymouth, Hunter, Smoked, Garlic Peppercorn, Hot Pepper, and Sage&Herbs.

Owner and cheesemaker Jesse Werner worked with graphic artist Sarit Werner, longtime collaborator and design partner, to design the Plymouth Cheese Giftbox. Sarit, of the Empress Branding studio (empressbranding.com) in Woodstock, Vermont, has been designing the Plymouth Cheese labels and graphics with Jesse since he launched the brand in 2009. Before moving to Vermont, Sarit worked as a graphic artist for Ralph Lauren in New York City, specializing in vintage ephemera appropriation for both apparel and hardware design.

The Plymouth Cheese Giftbox has a vintage look which is directly inspired by the original stencil typography that adorn the walls and equipment of the antique Plymouth Cheese Factory. Jesse revived and developed the original recipe for Plymouth Cheese, while Sarit has created the vintage-inspired look and feel for the brand. Jesse and Sarit were married in September of this year.
The Plymouth Cheese factory is located on the Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site in charming Plymouth,Vermont. The cheese factory is open 7 days a week, 10 - 5 pm in the summer and 11 - 4 pm in the winter. We have an onsite museum, retail shop, and large windows for excellent cheesemaking viewing. Come visit us soon!

The Plymouth Cheese Factory is the second oldest cheese factory in the United States - producing high quality and distinctive artisan cheeses for over 125 years. The factory still occupies the same site and building as it did when it was built in 1890 in Plymouth, Vermont by Col. John Coolidge, father of Calvin Coolidge, the 30th President of the United States. John Coolidge, a dairy farmer, created Plymouth Cheese as a means of turning extra milk into a product with a longer shelf life, using the same exacting granular curd recipe that the first European settlers brought with them to the New World.

Today, Jesse Werner still uses that same recipe, and it is the closest thing consumers can find to the cheeses America’s first farmers produced in the 1600s. Plymouth Cheese uses only raw whole cow’s milk from a single dedicated herd.
Plymouth Cheese features a colorful Handwaxed Series as well as a natural rind Cave Aged series, which includes two distinct blues. Our cheeses are crafted, cut and waxed by hand - the way they did it over 125 years ago on the Vermont homestead.
Plymouth Cheese is a true American original.
