Intervale Center's Fair Share Program Seeks Income Eligible Members!
The Intervale Center Fair Share program runs for 16 weeks (July through October) with CSA style pickups every Monday at the Intervale Center from 2:30-4:30pm. The food is from Intervale farms and other farms in Chittenden County and has been gleaned by Intervale Center staff and volunteers. The produce is free of charge and is anything farmers have in excess, can't sell to their markets, or anything with a little bit of bruising or pest damage. The veggies don't always look 100%, like they would at a farmers' market or the grocery store, but they are always 100% delicious.
All CSA members' gross income must fall at or below 185% of the U.S. Poverty Income Guidelines, the same income eligibility for 3SquaresVT and WIC. Members must sign a simple waiver on the first day of Fair Share pickup to verify their eligibility. In addition to 6-8lbs of fresh produce per week, they'll also receive nutrition education, recipes, and plenty of samples!
Please share this information and my contact info with your networks or anyone wanting fresh, local veggies for free! We still have plenty of room for members! They can call or email Sarah to sign up: sarah@intervale.org or 802.660.0440 ext.120.
