Hunger Mountain Coop Community Grant Applications Now Available
2015 HMCCF applications are now available! Applications are due by September 11th. Grant recipients will be announced at The Coop's Annual Meeting on Sunday, November 15th.
The Coop Council created the Hunger Mountain Cooperative Community Fund (HMCCF) in 2005 as a charitable giving program. HMCCF provides financial support to businesses, organizations and initiatives aligned with our Mission of building a dynamic community of healthy individuals, sustainable local food systems, and thriving cooperative commerce.
The Fund has grown steadily thanks to generous donations from our Member-Owners. Beginning in 2012, we began making donations on an annual basis. HMCCF grants are used to support local businesses in need of start-up capital, to fund construction of key infrastructure projects like community kitchens, and to encourage local activism on food-related issues in central Vermont.
In 2014 Cooperative Community Fund grants totaled $8,250. The recipients include Adamant Cooperative, Capstone Community Action, Farm of Milk and Honey, Good Heart Farmstead, Onion River Exchange, Randolph Elementary School, ReSource, and the Vermont Youth Conservation Corps.
