Ellen Kahler, VSJF Director, Honored as an Ag Innovator in Vermont Agricultural Hall of Fame!

We're thrilled to share that Ellen Kahler, our Executive Director, has been honored as an Ag Innovator in this year's Vermont Agricultural Hall of Fame! Ellen's innovative work through the Farm to Plate program has had positive impacts on Vermont's food system, making local food more widely available and sustainable, while supporting and raising awareness about viable career opportunities in the food system.

It was this really exciting time in some aspects of the farm and food sector and then really economic challenging time in other parts of the farm and food sector. The Legislature was like, ‘What’s going on, why is this like this, and could you spend some more time learning more about this and figuring out how to advance and strengthen the entire farm and food sector.

She and the rest of the 2024 Vermont Agricultural Hall of Fame inductees will be celebrated at the Champlain Valley Fair on August 28 in Essex Junction.
